Larry J. Redding was headed south on Barlow Two Taverns Road around 2:30 p.m. when he lost control of his car near Patterson Road, according to the state police report.
Troopers said Redding's GMC Enovy drifted across the road and hit a mailbox then a tree. The 72-year-old was taken to Gettysburg Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Adams Regional EMS, Alpha Company (Littlestown) EMS, WellSpan Life Flight, and Littlestown Fire Department assisted at the scene, they added.
